This week’s health tip is: Eat Your Greens!

Now I know I’m not the first person to say this, and I definitely won’t be the last, but if you’re not doing this already, gulping down your greens may be something to add to your weekly, if not daily, regimen.

But what’s all this green smoothie talk all about anyways? Is it just another fad that will just fade away in the next few years or is it here to stay? I’m going to have to say it’s a little bit of both. But the more publicity drawn towards green juices and green smoothies the better!

Here are my top 5 reasons why drinking your greens is a good idea:

1. Top Nutrition: For those of you who know me, you know I’m all about nutrient dense foods. If it lacks in nutrients, it doesn’t make the cut. Vegetables and fruits contribute vital vitamins and antioxidants to your body and the reality is, the vast majority of is aren’t getting enough. Juicing and blending is the easiest way to get a high volume and large variety of leafy greens and fruits into your body. Which also means, you can essentially get all the recommended servings of fruits and veggies in your day in one serving allowing you to slip a bit here and there throughout your day. Win, win.
